Legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has condemned the recurring killings in Benue State, describing the attacks on communities in Otukpo Local Government Area as intolerable.
The Benue-born music star made the remarks during a visit to Otukpo-Nobi, one of the communities recently attacked by suspected armed herdsmen.
The visit followed the deadly July 12, 2026, assault on the community, during which at least 10 residents were killed and several others sustained injuries.
Sharing a video from the visit on his Instagram page on Thursday, August 6, 2Baba expressed solidarity with the victims and called for renewed hope despite the tragedy.
“Benue is home. When home hurts, we all feel it. Today is about standing together, listening, and reminding one another that hope is never lost,” he wrote.
While addressing members of the community, the singer sympathised with bereaved families and those affected by the violence, urging residents, leaders and other stakeholders to work together to find a lasting solution to the insecurity plaguing the area.

He said the continued bloodshed had become too frequent to ignore and insisted that decisive action was needed to stop the cycle of attacks.
“It’s becoming too much now, we can’t pretend anymore. We need to begin planning. It won’t be automatic but there is definitely going to be a solution,” 2Baba said.
The award-winning artiste stressed that restoring peace would require a united effort rather than relying on any single individual or group.
“It’s not going to be one person, we all need to come together and fight it. I came to sympathise with you all. It’s painful,” he added.
Benue State has continued to experience deadly attacks linked to armed herdsmen and other criminal groups, with communities across several local government areas repeatedly coming under assault.
The latest attack on Otukpo-Nobi has heightened concerns over insecurity in the state, prompting renewed calls from residents and community leaders for stronger security measures to protect lives and property.
2Baba’s visit adds his voice to growing demands for urgent action to end the violence and restore lasting peace in his home state.
