Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has presented N25 million to the families of four soldiers and a vigilante who died while performing their duties in the state.
The presentation was held at the 3 Brigade Nigerian Army Headquarters, Bukavu Barracks, Kano.
Each family received N5 million in recognition of the ultimate sacrifice of their loved ones.
The deceased include three Nigerian Army personnel, one Nigerian Air Force officer, and a vigilante who lost their lives defending lives and property in Shanono Local Government Area between November 2025 and January 2026.

Governor Yusuf described the fallen as heros and stressed that their bravery would not be forgotten.
He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting the welfare of security personnel and their families.
Brigadier General Ahmed Tukur, Commander of the 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, said the gesture would boost morale among serving personnel.
The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude for the support and recognition.
