The Kano State Government has handed over the School of Rural Technology and Entrepreneurship Development in Rano to the committee overseeing the proposed Federal Polytechnic, Rano.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the handover on Friday, August 21, 2026, after meeting committee members and inspecting facilities earmarked for the institution. His spokesman, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, August 23.
Yusuf pledged continued state support for the project, stressing that technical education and skills development were vital to preparing young people for employment, entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
He said the government would upgrade facilities and improve the learning environment at the school’s new location in Sumaila Local Government Area.
