Former Kano State Governor and NNPP chieftain, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Sunday visited Gumel in Jigawa State to offer his condolences to the people of the Gumel Emirate following the death of its former Emir, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Sani II, CON.
Kwankwaso described the late monarch as a distinguished traditional ruler, beacon of wisdom and father to his people, noting that his nearly 46 years on the throne were characterised by peace, progressive leadership and dedication to the preservation of the emirate’s cultural heritage.
He expressed his sympathy to the late Emir’s family, the traditional institution and the people of Gumel, acknowledging the monarch’s contributions to the development and stability of the emirate during his long reign.
Kwankwaso also congratulated the late Emir’s son, the Ciroman Gumel, Lawan Ahmed Muhammad, on his appointment as the new Emir of Gumel.

He expressed optimism that the new monarch would build on his father’s legacy and provide continued leadership and stability for the people of the emirate.
The visit came as the Gumel Emirate mourns the death of a traditional ruler who spent nearly five decades on the throne and begins a new chapter under his successor.
