Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman delivered a decisive performance on Tuesday night, scoring the crucial goal that sent Atlético Madrid into the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League at the expense of FC Barcelona.
The quarter-final clash burst into life early, with Lamine Yamal opening the scoring in the 4th minute to give Barcelona an early advantage.
Ferran Torres then doubled the lead in the 24th minute, bringing the tie level at 2-2 on aggregate and putting the hosts in control.
However, Atlético Madrid responded swiftly. Lookman struck in the 31st minute to pull one back, a goal that proved decisive as it handed Diego Simeone’s side a 3-2 aggregate lead.

Despite Barcelona’s efforts to mount a comeback, Atlético held firm to secure progression to the last four.
The Madrid-based club had already edged the first leg at the Camp Nou last week, and their latest victory confirms Barcelona’s elimination from two competitions this season, having also been knocked out of the Copa del Rey.
Lookman’s impact against Barcelona has been notable, with the Nigerian registering two goals and one assist in four meetings, underlining his growing influence in high-stakes fixtures.
