Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman was on the scoresheet as Atlético Madrid defeated CA Osasuna 2-1 to secure qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Playing away from home at Osasuna’s stadium, Atletico Madrid took the lead in the 15th minute after Lookman calmly converted from the penalty spot to give the visitors an early advantage.
The visitors maintained control for most of the encounter before striker Alexander Sørloth doubled Atletico Madrid’s lead in the 71st minute, putting the Spanish side firmly in command.

Osasuna, however, managed to reduce the deficit deep into stoppage time when Aimar Oroz found the back of the net in the 90+1 minute, but the late goal was not enough to deny Atletico Madrid all three points.
The victory confirmed Atletico Madrid’s qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League, while Lookman’s impressive performance continued to underline his importance for Diego Simeone’s side this season.
