Nigeria has moved a step closer to hosting African football’s biggest night after the country’s proposal to stage the 2026 CAF Awards received approval from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The development marks a major boost for Nigerian football and sports administration, with the country now preparing to welcome some of the biggest stars, officials, and stakeholders across the African football scene.
The Confederation of African Football Awards, popularly known as the CAF Awards, celebrates outstanding achievements by African players, coaches, clubs, and national teams over the course of the year.
Nigeria last hosted the prestigious ceremony in 2015, an edition that attracted top football personalities from across the continent and beyond.
