Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Friday visited the residence of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, following the abduction of Adelabu’s younger sister and her twin sons in Ibadan.
The visit came two days after the victims were kidnapped while travelling within the state.
A video circulating on social media showed Makinde arriving at Adelabu’s residence, where he was received by the former minister before both men proceeded indoors.
Sharing footage of the visit on X, Oyo Affairs wrote: “Governor Seyi Makinde Visits Chief Adebayo Adelabu Following Abduction of Sister and Twin Sons.”
Details released by Adelabu’s media aide, Femi Awogboro, indicated that the victim, 43-year-old Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, was kidnapped on Wednesday alongside her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.

According to the family, John-Paul had recently relocated to Ibadan with her children and was making arrangements to join her husband in the United States before the incident occurred.
Awogboro said the abduction happened while she was taking the children to school.
The incident has generated concern across Oyo State and beyond, with many calling for intensified efforts to secure the release of the victims.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Police Command has confirmed that an investigation is underway.
Police authorities said tactical units and other security resources have been deployed to track down the kidnappers, rescue the victims, and bring those responsible to justice.
The abduction adds to growing concerns over kidnapping and other security challenges in parts of the South-West, where residents have increasingly called for stronger measures to protect lives and property.
