A 43-year-old man has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command after allegedly killing his elder brother, Mustapha Amidu, in a violent attack reportedly triggered by a dream dispute.
Police said the incident occurred in Alegunlode Compound, Sepeteri, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. According to the authorities, the suspect allegedly confronted his brother and struck him on the head with a heavy rock before fleeing the scene.
The victim was rushed to Ileri Oluwa Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead by the attending medical doctor.
A report of the assault was lodged at the Ago-Amodu Divisional Police Headquarters, prompting operatives to visit the scene and commence preliminary investigations.

The suspect was later arrested and reportedly confessed to the act, cooperating with investigators.
Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, CP Femi Haruna, ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for comprehensive investigation.
He assured the public that justice would be pursued in accordance with the law.
Authorities described the incident as tragic and urged residents to resolve disputes peacefully and avoid violent reactions to personal grievances. Investigations are ongoing.
