The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), in collaboration with its former Lagos State chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, is set to unveil a new socio-political movement in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The initiative, named the Team Nigeria Project (TNP), aims to deepen citizen participation in governance and rally nationwide backing for the President’s continued leadership.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos on Wednesday, spokesperson for the group, Olamilekan Pedro, said the organisation is committed to building momentum for Tinubu’s second term, citing what he described as the administration’s progress in key sectors since 2023.
“Under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria has witnessed an economic turnaround,” Pedro said, pointing to policy reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidies, which he claimed had increased internally generated revenue (IGR) and improved funding to states.
Pedro further listed a range of achievements, including naira stabilisation, improved infrastructure, and enhanced agricultural output, adding that these gains justify the need for continuity beyond 2027.

“Local refineries are now functioning, and businesses are benefitting from better roads and electricity. Food production is up, and insecurity has decreased significantly, allowing Nigerians to live in peace,” he stated.
According to Pedro, several directorates within TNP have been established to mobilise grassroots support, particularly targeting women and youth demographics.
The official launch of the Team Nigeria Project is scheduled for next month in Abuja, with top members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) expected to be in attendance.
