Mob Set NSCDC Office, Three Motorcycle Thieves Ablaze in Kano

At least three suspected motorcycle thieves have been killed after a mob attacked and set ablaze a divisional office of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State.

Multiple reports gathered on Wednesday, revealed that the incident occurred at the Danmaje Quarters Divisional Office of the NSCDC.

According to the report, personnel attached to the office have arrested three suspects over an alleged case of motorcycle theft.

The arrest reportedly triggered anger among some youths in the area, who later mobilised in large numbers, armed with dangerous weapons, and stormed the NSCDC office, demanding that the suspects be released to them for lynching.

The youths overpowered the NSCDC personnel, forced them out of the office and went on to set the office and the suspects ablaze.

Security operatives were later deployed to the scene to restore order, while the victims were rushed to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

Medical personnel at the hospital confirmed them dead on arrival.

The remains of the victims were subsequently deposited at the hospital’s morgue, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
