Morocco Consider Iniesta For Senior Technical Role

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is reportedly exploring the possibility of appointing former Barcelona and Spain legend Andrés Iniesta to a senior technical role within the national football structure.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, discussions are at an exploratory stage, with the FRMF keen to tap into Iniesta’s vast experience at the highest level of the game as part of its long-term football development strategy.

Iniesta was recently present at the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Rabat, where he attended as an honoured guest of the Moroccan federation. His appearance at the showpiece event further fuelled speculation about a potential collaboration between the former World Cup winner and Moroccan football authorities.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation, Iniesta enjoyed a glittering career with Barcelona and the Spanish national team, winning multiple UEFA Champions League titles, domestic honours, and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The FRMF has in recent years intensified efforts to strengthen its technical and administrative structures, aiming to build on Morocco’s growing reputation as a rising force in African and global football. While no official announcement has been made, any move to bring Iniesta on board would represent a major statement of intent by the federation.
