MultiChoice Nigeria has announced the appointment of Kemi Omotosho as its new Chief Executive Officer, with effect from January 2026, signaling a new phase of leadership for the pay-TV and digital entertainment company.
Omotosho will succeed John Ugbe, who is set to retire after nearly 15 years as CEO. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company said Ugbe’s departure follows a distinguished tenure marked by strategic expansion, innovation and stability amid rapid changes in Nigeria’s media landscape.
Under Ugbe’s leadership, MultiChoice Nigeria navigated major industry disruptions, including the rise of streaming platforms, regulatory pressures and fluctuating economic conditions.
The company said he played a key role in strengthening its operational framework, expanding local content production, and reinforcing the long-term sustainability of the business.
While announcing Omotosho’s appointment, MultiChoice Nigeria described her as a seasoned executive with deep industry experience and a strong understanding of the company’s operations and market environment.
