MultiChoice will remove four channels from the DStv platform on September 16, 2026, in its latest revision of the pay-TV service’s line-up.
M-Net Movies 1, kykNET Lekker, Mzansi Bioskop and Mzansi Music will go off air at 23:59 South African Standard Time (SAST).
MultiChoice said the move follows its ongoing review of the DStv portfolio amid changing viewing habits and audience preferences.
M-Net Movies 1, carried on DStv channel 104, is the only M-Net Movies service affected, leaving the wider brand intact.

The other three channels have catered largely to South African audiences through Afrikaans entertainment, local films and music.
The move follows other DStv changes in 2026, including the removal of BET Africa, MTV Base, CBS Reality and CBS Justice after decisions by their respective owners.
MultiChoice also announced in March 2026 that it would discontinue Showmax in Africa following a review of its streaming business.
The restructuring comes after Canal+ completed its acquisition of MultiChoice in September 2025. DStv is also expanding its sports offering, with additional SuperSport channels scheduled to launch from August 19, 2026.
The four affected channels will remain on DStv until 23:59 SAST on September 16.
