NAF to Shut Lagos Airport Road for Fitness Drill

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters Logistics Command has announced that sections of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Road in Lagos will be temporarily closed on Saturday, the 18th of October, 2025, for its routine 10-kilometre Walk/Jog Exercise.

According to a statement signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Abigail Ologun, the exercise will take place between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. as part of NAF’s continuous efforts to promote physical fitness, health, and operational efficiency among its personnel.

Motorists and residents around the Murtala Muhammed Airport corridor have been advised to use alternative routes during the period, as movement will be briefly restricted between Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) and the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA).

“The Command has made adequate arrangements to ensure the exercise is smooth, safe, and hitch-free. NAF and other security personnel will be on ground to guide traffic and ensure public safety,” the statement read in part.

While expressing regret for any inconvenience the short closure might cause, the Air Force called for public cooperation and understanding, assuring that normal vehicular movement will resume immediately after the exercise.
