Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is undergoing a major revival aimed at restoring its unity, strength, and readiness to govern Nigeria again.
Fintiri stated this on Thursday, October 16, through a post on his verified X account after leading the National Convention Organising Committee to inspect preparations at the proposed venue in Ibadan, Oyo State, ahead of the party’s convention scheduled for November 15.
His comments come at a time the PDP is grappling with internal setbacks following several high-profile defections.
In recent weeks, notable figures within the party have crossed over to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Among them are Governors Peter Mbah of Enugu State and Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, who both joined the APC within a day of each other.
Speaking on the party’s renewed commitment, Fintiri wrote, “Today, I led the PDP National Convention Organising Committee Executive to Ibadan, Oyo State, to assess preparations for our forthcoming Ibadan 2025 Convention.
“Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts reflect excellence and readiness. We’re building a stronger PDP—united, focused, and prepared to lead Nigeria forward.”
Fintiri’s assurance reflects ongoing efforts by the PDP leadership to reposition the party as a credible alternative ahead of future elections, despite the recent turbulence within its ranks.
