Nigeria’s Economy Grows By 4.07% In Q4 2025 — NBS

Nigeria’s economy recorded a 4.07 per cent year-on-year growth in real terms during the fourth quarter of 2025, an improvement over the 3.76 per cent posted in the same period of 2024, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Friday, February 27.

The figures point to a sustained recovery across the country’s key economic sectors, with agriculture and industry both recording stronger performances compared to the previous year.

The agriculture sector was a standout performer, growing by 4.00 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2025, a significant jump from the 2.54 per cent recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2024.

The improvement reflects stronger output and resilience in a sector that employs the largest share of Nigeria’s workforce.

Also, the industry sector also showed notable gains, expanding by 3.88 per cent year-on-year, up from 2.49 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The stronger performance suggests increased activity across manufacturing, construction, and other industrial sub-sectors.

Meanwhile, the services sector remained the largest contributor to economic growth, expanding by 4.15 per cent during the quarter.

However, the pace of growth slowed slightly compared to the 4.75 per cent recorded in the same quarter of 2024.

According to the NBS, overall 4.07 per cent GDP growth in the final quarter of 2025 reflects broad-based expansion across all three major sectors of the economy, despite the marginal slowdown in services.

The latest data provides further evidence of strengthening economic momentum under the current administration, which has implemented a series of reforms including the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of exchange rates since taking office in 2023.
