The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three suspected cultists and recovered weapons and drugs following a raid on a suspected cultism black spot in the Arakale area of Akure metropolis.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, February 15, describing the operation as part of the command’s proactive policing strategy to rid the state of cult-related activities and other criminal elements.
According to Jimoh, the suspects were apprehended on February 10 at about 11 p.m. by a team from the Tactical Intelligence Response Squad, acting on credible intelligence about cult activities in the area.
The suspects, identified as Damilola, aka “2Gbaski,” aged 34; Uthman, 29; and Akinwale, are believed to be members of the Supreme Eiye Confraternity.
A search of the suspects led to the recovery of an axe, a beret cap, a Retevis walkie-talkie, sachets of tramadol, a substance suspected to be marijuana, and an ice bunker.
