The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and leader of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, has called on party leaders to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
Oyetola made the call during strategic consultations with party stakeholders at his country home in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area, according to a statement released on Monday, March 9, by his Special Adviser, Dr. Bolaji Akinola.
The meetings brought together party elders, serving and former members of the National Assembly, former members of the State House of Assembly, support groups, and other key political stakeholders.
Akinola said the engagements were part of Oyetola’s broader efforts to consolidate party unity and build support across communities ahead of the poll.
Speaking to the gathering, Oyetola emphasised the importance of unity and sustained engagement with voters at the grassroots level.
“The forthcoming election will be decisive and critical for the future of our party and the state. This is the time for unity, loyalty and sustained engagement with the people at the grassroots,” he said.
“We must strengthen our political structures and deepen consultations in every ward and community across the state.”
Oyetola expressed confidence in the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, saying he has the leadership qualities needed to deliver good governance.

“Oyebamiji possesses the leadership qualities required to deliver purposeful governance. He has the capacity to steer Osun toward greater accountability, growth and development,” he said.
“He also enjoys the goodwill and confidence of stakeholders across the state.”
The minister reminded party leaders that preparations for the 2026 governorship election must align with broader strategies for the 2027 general elections, stressing that unity among stakeholders remains the APC’s greatest strength.
“Our collective resolve and unity will determine the outcome of the coming election. We must remain loyal to the ideals of our party and committed to the progress of Osun. Working together, we can return the APC to government in the state,” he said.
Oyetola also commended party elders and loyal members for their dedication and urged them to sustain efforts that promote peace, cooperation and political stability in their communities and local government areas.
He emphasised that consistent grassroots mobilisation and collective responsibility would be essential for electoral victory.
Participants at the meetings pledged their commitment to the party and promised to work together toward returning the APC to power in the state.
