Otti Vows to Defend Abia as State Marks 34th Anniversary

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding the State from insecurity, warning that no part of Abia will be ceded to criminal elements.

In a goodwill message to residents on Wednesday, marking the 34th anniversary of the creation of Abia State, Otti lauded the foresight of the founding fathers whose vision birthed the State on August 27, 1991.

According to him, his government is laying the foundation for a new Abia where every citizen will take pride in calling home.

He urged the people to rally behind his administration in the collective task of building a prosperous future.

“No inch of Abia State will be safe for those who traffic in violence and tools of destruction,” the Governor declared. “Bandits and criminal elements are warned to steer clear or face decisive consequences.”

On his part, the Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah, hailed Otti’s leadership, noting that the State has witnessed greater security, cleaner environments, improved healthcare, and infrastructural development under his administration.

He also commended the Governor for uplifting the welfare of traditional rulers across the State.

Unlike previous years, the 34th anniversary of Abia’s creation was observed quietly, as the State government opted against holding elaborate public celebrations.
