Outrage as Fans Fume Over Osimhen’s Attitude Despite Brace

Nigerian football fans have expressed anger over Victor Osimhen’s behaviour during and after the Super Eagles’ 4-0 victory against Mozambique on Monday night, even though the striker scored twice in the encounter.

Osimhen had an on-pitch outburst with teammate Ademola Lookman after he felt the Atalanta winger failed to release a pass that would have given him a clear chance to complete a hat-trick.

The incident occurred late in the game and was captured on television, drawing immediate reactions from supporters.

After the final whistle, the Galatasaray forward went straight to the tunnel without celebrating with the rest of the squad.

His actions suggested he was still angry over the missed opportunity, a move that sparked outrage among fans inside the stadium and on social media.

While leaving the pitch, some supporters booed Osimhen, with a section of the crowd openly showing their displeasure at what they described as an unnecessary display of frustration. Witnesses also reported that a few fans boded him as he walked off.

Many Nigerians after the match demanded that Osimhen issue an apology to Lookman and the entire team, insisting that unity should come before personal achievements.

Despite the controversy, the Super Eagles remain in impressive form. Nigeria have now qualified for the quarter final, winning four games and scoring 12 goals in the tournament so far.

The team’s next challenge will be maintaining their strong momentum as they await their opponent for the knockout stage, with fans hoping the internal tension does not affect their quest for AFCON glory.
