Victor Osimhen struck twice as Ademola Lookman delivered a dazzling performance, scoring once and providing three assists, to propel Nigeria’s Super Eagles to a commanding 4–0 victory over Mozambique and seal qualification for the AFCON quarter-finals, where they will face Egypt.
Lookman set the tone early, opening the scoring in the 20th minute with a calm finish after sustained Nigerian pressure.
Five minutes later, the Atalanta forward turned provider, sliding a precise pass to Osimhen, who made no mistake to double the lead in the 25th minute and put the Super Eagles firmly in control before halftime.
Nigeria picked up where they left off after the break. Just two minutes into the second half, Lookman again carved open the Mozambican defence, teeing up Osimhen to slot home his second of the night in the 47th minute and make it 3–0.

The rout was completed when Akor Adams netted his first AFCON goal, once more benefiting from Lookman’s creativity as the winger registered his third assist of the match to cap a dominant all-round display.
Osimhen’s brace takes his international tally to 35 goals for Nigeria, moving him to within three goals of breaking the legendary Rashidi Yekini’s record as the Super Eagles’ all-time leading scorer.
With confidence high and attacking chemistry clicking at the right time, Nigeria now turn their focus to a blockbuster quarter-final clash against Egypt, as the Super Eagles continue their quest for continental glory.
