PDP Appoints 24-Member Panel to Hear Osun Governorship Primary Appeals

The Peoples Democratic Party has appointed a 24-member Governorship Primary Appeal Panel to examine petitions arising from its Osun State governorship primary ahead of the 2026 election.

The announcement was made on Monday, December 8, in a statement by the PDP National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Shan.

According to the party, the appeal sitting is scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Bauchi Governor’s Lodge, Tatari Ali House, behind the ECOWAS Secretariat in Asokoro, Abuja, with proceedings starting at 11am.

“In carrying out this assignment, the Panel is expected to be guided strictly by the PDP Constitution (2025 as amended), the Electoral Guidelines for Party Primary and Electoral Act, 2022,” the statement read.

The panel follows the party’s primary in Osogbo, where Adebayo Adedamola emerged as the PDP governorship candidate, polling 919 votes out of 957 cast. His emergence came after Ademola Adeleke’s recent defection.

The PDP noted that the panel will operate strictly within the provisions of party and national regulations.

The panel is chaired by Kabiru Turaki, SAN, with Taofeek Arapaja as Secretary. Other members include Daniel Woyengikuro, Hamza Koshe, Ihediwa Nnabugwu, Isa Abubakar, Okechukwu Daniel, Theophilus Shan, Ini Ememobong, Aribisala Idowu,

Additional members include Bara’u Shafi’i, Ogbu Chinenyenwa, Emmanuel Ogidi, Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Bello Gwarzo, Francis Orogu, Ali Odeafa, Umar Babangida, Chief Obasi Elebe (SE), Mark OgbolE (NC), Nuhu Bajoga (NW), Shariff Abdullahi (NE), Ojo Micheal Oke (SW), and Onyia Ejiofor (SS).

The administrative secretaries are Emmanuel Ekpe and Suleiman Usman.
