A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, has died.
Orbih, who was reportedly an ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, died on Monday, August 31, 2026.
The announcement of his death was contained in a statement issued on behalf of the Orbih family by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, Esq.
The family said the announcement was made with “profound sadness and a heavy heart but in total submission to the will of the almighty God.”
According to the statement, the deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs Florence Orbih; his children, Ms Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr Mildred Omonemi Orbih; his brothers and sisters; as well as other members of the extended family.
The family appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to remember them in their prayers as they come to terms with the loss.

“At this difficult time, we ask family members, friends and well-wishers to remember the entire family in their prayers as we mourn this painful loss,” the statement read.
The family said further details concerning the burial and other funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
Orbih’s death comes as a loss to the PDP and political associates who knew him, particularly those within the political circle associated with Wike.
The family urged members of the public to respect its privacy and continue to support them with prayers during the period of mourning.
