The factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdulrahman Mohammed, has affirmed that the party will continue to depend on legal avenues to resolve its internal disputes following a favourable ruling in Ibadan.
Mohammed described the declaratory judgment delivered by the Ibadan High Court as “clear and unambiguous.” He made the remarks on Monday, the 2nd of February, 2026, during a factional Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting in Abuja.
He emphasized that the party’s leadership remains committed to upholding justice in the best interest of the PDP. The chairman also revealed that a timetable for activities related to pending congresses in several states would soon be released, noting that these steps are aimed at ensuring a smooth National Convention.
According to Mohammed, the PDP continues to be a people-centered party, with strong structures, national cohesion, and a history of verifiable achievements.
He cautioned that the party must maintain its momentum at a critical period in its political journey.
He expressed gratitude to party stakeholders nationwide for their steadfast support, describing the moment as a defining chapter in the PDP’s history.
He stated: “Your Excellences, you are aware of the declaratory judgment by the Ibadan High Court in our favour.

“The law is simple and unambiguous, and we shall continue to pursue justice for our great party.
“Any moment from now, we shall roll out our timetable for activities that have to do with outstanding Congresses in some states that will usher in seamless National Convention.
“The Peoples Democratic Party remains the only party that is built and centered on people with structures, national coherence, and verifiable legacies. We cannot afford for this party to sleep in our hands.”
