The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mourned the death of its former National Vice Chairman, South-South, Chief Dan Orbih.
The party expressed its condolences in a statement posted on its official page on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, and signed by its National Publicity Secretary of the Interim National Working Committee, Ini Ememobong.
The PDP described Orbih’s death as a significant loss to the party, noting his contributions during his years of service in various capacities.
The party’s Interim National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, said the late politician played important roles in the development of the PDP.
“The late Chief Dan Orbih held various positions in our great party, contributing significantly in each of those positions. We deeply mourn his death,” Turaki said.
The party said Orbih’s contributions to the PDP would be remembered, while commiserating with his family, friends and political associates over his passing.

The PDP also prayed for God to grant the deceased eternal rest and give his family, friends and associates the strength to bear the loss.
Orbih, a prominent PDP chieftain and ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, reportedly died on Monday, August 31, 2026.
His family had announced his death in a statement signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, Esq., on behalf of the Orbih family.
The family said funeral arrangements and other details would be announced in due course.
