The Peoples Democratic Party on Friday announced the constitution of caretaker committees for its Enugu, Delta, and Rivers chapters, approving the move in line with Section 29(2)(b) of its 2025 Constitution.
According to a statement issued on Friday, December 12, by National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Dakas Shan, the National Working Committee acted on behalf of the National Executive Committee to set up the new teams.
The party listed Barrister Steve Oruruo as chairman of the Enugu committee, while Martin Ugwuamadieze was named secretary.
The committee also includes Ugwu Uchenna Godswill, Lilian C. C. Ugwuoke, Anikezie Michael, Cosmas Chinwe Ugwu, Barrister Basil Aguigwo, Chief Cosmas Onyia, and Barrister Peter Ajah.
For Delta, the PDP appointed Professor Sylvester Monye to lead the committee, with Dr Michael Tidi as secretary.

Members include Ujor Ucheonny, Pharmacist Victor Ofobrukueta, Commander Johnbull Aghogho Kenairu, Jackson Agbor, Onajega Mike, Chief Ekiyor Charles, Hon Vero Egbuna, Chukwunonso Alex Ndah, and Walter Uguoye.
In Rivers, Dr Nname Robinson Ewor will serve as chairman, while Ogbam Ojimah was named secretary.
Other members are Alalibo Graham Braide, Princess Isioma Stella Braide, Architect Eldred Owpelu Orubo, Austin Ema Wali, Ada Utong, Edward Nubari David, and Dr Paul Baribeful Nkor.
The statement noted that the committees will run party affairs for a period not exceeding 90 days or until new executives are elected, as provided in Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP Constitution.
Furthermore, Shan said the committees must be guided by the PDP Constitution, the Electoral Act 2022, and the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Once again, congratulations,” the statement added, in reference to the appointees.
