Peter Obi Returns to Nnewi School, Donates ₦5m, Reaffirms Education Commitment

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has fulfilled a promise he made to Immaculata Girls’ Model Secondary School, Nnewi, with a return visit and a ₦5 million donation to support the school’s development.

Obi disclosed this in a post shared on his official X handle on Thursday, describing the visit as a moment of joy and reassurance that commitments—especially those made to children and educational institutions—must be honoured.

According to him, the pledge was made during a visit to the school in the last quarter of 2025, where he assured students and school authorities that he would return with tangible support.

During the visit, Obi encouraged the students, particularly the girls, to take their education seriously, stressing that knowledge remains a powerful tool capable of unlocking opportunities beyond their immediate imagination.
