Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have neutralised two suspected bandits and recovered weapons during an intensified clearance operation under the ongoing Operation Peace Shield in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
According to intelligence sources quoted by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on Thursday, the troops launched a fighting patrol around the Karim General Area toward Usmanu, where they encountered armed bandits near Wudompi community.
It was gathered that during the operation, soldiers overpowered the criminals, resulting in the neutralisation of two suspects.
The troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle and 21 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition from the scene.

Security forces are also exploiting the surrounding terrain to track down other bandits believed to be hiding in the area.
The operation forms part of a broader push to dismantle armed groups disrupting peace across Taraba State.
