The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 28-year-old suspect, Femi Agbeye, who is alleged to have attacked his younger siblings with a machete, resulting in their deaths.
According to reports, the incident was reported by the suspect’s father, Mr. Agbeye, a resident of the New Site area along Doctors Road in Okitipupa.
He reported that his son carried out the attack in his absence, leaving three members of the family dead.
This was made known in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Dsp Abayomi Jimoh, and shared on the command’s Facebook page on Thursday.
The victims were identified as Bose Agbeye, 20, Dupe Agbeye, 7, and Blessing Agbeye, 5.
It was gathered that Police operatives who responded to the distress call discovered the victims lifeless at the scene.
Their remains were subsequently evacuated to the morgue of the State Specialist Hospital, where autopsies are expected to be conducted as part of ongoing investigations.
In a swift response, law enforcement officers tracked down and arrested the suspect on the same day.
The statement also disclosed that the suspect will be charged to court once investigations are completed.

The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State condemned the killings, describing the act as “heinous and unacceptable.”
He assured residents that the command is committed to ensuring justice is served.
Jimoh in the statement also called on members of the public to remain calm and assist security agencies with any information that could aid the investigation.
The police reiterated their resolve to protect lives and property, warning against all forms of violence and urging communities to remain vigilant.
The incident has sparked grief and outrage within the community, with many residents calling for swift justice for the victims.
