Police Confirm Killing Of Omoku Youth Leader, Launch Full Investigation

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the killing and beheading of the President of the Omoku Youth Federation, Ifeanyi Azuazu, alongside his aide, Chigozie Oluwu, in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state.

The confirmation was made over the weekend by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Grace Iringe-Koko, who disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the gruesome incident.

According to Iringe-Koko, preliminary findings suggest the attack may be gang-related, adding that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Earlier, the Public Relations Officer of OSPAC in Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area, Godknows Nkem, revealed that the lifeless body of Azuazu was recovered from a forest in the area, sparking outrage and concern among residents.

Security agencies have since intensified patrols within the community, while residents have been urged to remain calm and cooperate with authorities by providing useful information that could aid the investigation.

The killings have thrown Omoku into mourning, with community leaders calling for swift justice and improved security measures to prevent further violence.
