The Katsina State Police Command has successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt in the Unguwar Sarkin Fulani Dutsen Dadi community of Faskari Local Government Area, rescuing 30 abducted residents.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, described the operation as a significant achievement in the fight against banditry under Commissioner of Police Aliyu Musa’s leadership.
According to the statement, armed bandits attacked the community around 1:00 a.m. on March 12, 2025, abducting 30 people and rustling livestock, including two cows, 92 sheep, and goats.
Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Faskari swiftly mobilized a patrol team to confront the attackers.

The police engaged the bandits in a fierce gunfight, forcing them to flee with injuries.
All kidnapped victims were rescued unharmed, and the stolen livestock was recovered.
Commissioner Musa commended his officers for their bravery and urged the public to continue providing timely intelligence to aid security efforts in the state.
