Police officers in Kebbi State have taken down a suspected bandit after gunmen stormed Kwagware village in Arewa Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar, released a statement on Thursday, the 6th of November, 2025, confirming the incident.
He explained that the armed men raided the community on Wednesday, November 5, carting away “an unspecified number of cows” and stripping villagers of “their mobile phones.”
Abubakar said security personnel from the Yeldu Division, backed by local vigilantes, trailed the fleeing attackers and exchanged fire with them, resulting in the killing of one suspect. Others fled with bullet injuries.

Residents burnt an “unregistered Boxer motorcycle,” while a “Tecno mobile phone” was also recovered from the scene.
He further stated that more police tactical teams, military officers, and vigilante groups have now been stationed in the area to restore peace and discourage fresh incursions.
The Commissioner of Police, Bello M. Sani, praised the responding operatives and encouraged them to keep up the pressure on criminal elements throughout the state.
