Portable Disqualified As Charles Okocha Wins Celebrity Boxing Rematch

Street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, suffered defeat in his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha after being disqualified for walking out of the ring before the end of the opening round.

The highly anticipated contest, tagged “Unfinished Business,” took place on Friday at the Balmoral Convention Centre inside the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The fight was organised as a rematch following their previous encounter, which Okocha had repeatedly claimed was unfairly decided in Portable’s favour.

Portable appeared to dominate the early stages of the bout before the contest descended into chaos as both fighters became involved in a wrestling-style confrontation that left the referee struggling to restore order.

Officials eventually rang the bell to end the round, while security personnel and members of both camps stepped in to separate the fighters and calm tensions inside the arena.

In the midst of the confusion, Portable abruptly left the ring, prompting loud boos from spectators, including guests seated in the VIP section.

Although efforts were made to persuade him to continue with the fight, officials later announced his disqualification, thereby handing victory to Okocha.

Before the contest began, Portable spoke briefly backstage while holding his son.

“I am not happy, but I want God to make me happy and my family,” the singer said.

The outcome marked a dramatic reversal for Portable, who emerged victorious during their first encounter and had confidently declared at the final weigh-in that he would once again defeat the actor.

The rivalry between the two entertainers has continued to attract widespread attention on social media, with fans closely following their exchanges both inside and outside the ring.

Okocha’s victory now appears to have settled the dispute, at least for the time being, while questions remain over whether another rematch could eventually take place.
