President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian lawyer, Tolu Obamuroh, on his elevation to the partnership of White & Case LLP, one of the world’s leading international law firms headquartered in New York.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday , President Tinubu hailed Obamuroh’s achievement as a reflection of Nigerian excellence and professional distinction on the global stage.
Effective January 1, 2026, Obamuroh will serve as a Partner in the firm’s International Arbitration Practice in Paris, joining a select group of only three new partners globally in that practice area — and the only one based in the firm’s Paris office, one of its 46 offices worldwide.
He also stands out as the only Nigerian-qualified lawyer in this year’s global partner class, underscoring his exceptional professional record and dedication to his field.
The President commended Obamuroh for his outstanding career, noting that he has represented sovereigns and major corporations in high-value, cross-border disputes across the energy and infrastructure sectors. Under the supervision of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Obamuroh has also served as a trusted adviser to the Government of Nigeria in several international matters.

He extended his congratulations to Obamuroh’s family, colleagues, and the wider legal community, urging young Nigerians to draw inspiration from his journey.
“Tolu’s story demonstrates that with dedication, discipline, and service, young Nigerians can lead and excel globally,” the President said.
