New Champions of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) of the 2024/2025 season, Remo Stars officially crowned their fairy-tale season with a glittering gala celebration in Ikenne, Ogun State.
The event, held on Monday, was more than a victory lap — it was a statement of ambition, gratitude, and vision.
From near misses to national dominance, Remo Stars’ 2024/25 season was nothing short of transformative.
With 71 points, they topped the league, leaving second-placed Rivers United trailing by a comfortable seven-point margin.
After years of promise and painful close calls, the Sky Blue Stars finally stood tallest.
The club’s chairman and founder, Kunle Soname, captured the emotion of the moment during his address at the event. “This journey wasn’t easy,” he said. “But we stayed the course. Today, we are not just celebrating a title — we are beginning a legacy”.
In a move that lit up the gala, Soname unveiled a N25 million cash gift to the NPFL-winning squad, recognizing their relentless drive and discipline. But the giving didn’t stop there.
Remo Stars Ladies, fresh from a headline-making debut NWFL season that ended with a spot in the Super Six playoffs, received a N10 million reward.
The club’s youth academy, Beyond Limits, fresh off a triumphant Gothia Cup campaign in Sweden, was granted N5 million for its growing pedigree on the international youth stage.
And in a nod to the lifeblood of the club — the fans — the supporters’ club walked away with N2 million, with their request for a new team bus now firmly in the works.

The emotional centerpiece of the night came with Olamilekan Adedayo — the club’s leading marksman — receiving a brand-new SUV in recognition of his dual accolades as Best Player and Fans’ Player of the Season.
Adedayo’s seven-goal haul may not top scoring charts, but his timing was everything.
From his long-range thunderbolt that clinched the title against Niger Tornadoes to the late strike that capped a stirring comeback win over Abia Warriors, his goals were often the difference.
With domestic dominance now achieved, Remo Stars are preparing for a return to the CAF Champions League. After previous disappointments in continental qualifiers, they now enter the competition with the confidence — and the credentials — of true champions.
This is no longer a team with potential. It is a club with purpose.
“Now we look to Africa,” Soname declared, “to show that what we’ve built here in Ikenne can stand tall on the continent.”
