Rivers APC Directs Members To LGAs Ahead Of Primary Elections

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has directed party members to remain within their various Local Government Areas and constituencies ahead of the commencement of its primary elections scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, the party said the directive followed an updated timetable released by the state leadership for the conduct of the primaries across the state.

The statement, signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Chibike Ikenga, instructed members to participate in the exercise only within their designated LGAs and constituencies to ensure a smooth and coordinated process.

The party also warned members against converging at the State Party Secretariat located along the Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway, stressing that only authorized officials would be permitted access to the facility during the exercise.

The directive comes amid heightened political activities in Rivers State as parties begin strategic preparations and consultations ahead of the next electoral cycle.
