Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are reportedly set to marry in Madeira this weekend, returning to the Portuguese island where the football superstar’s journey began.
British newspaper The Sun reported that the couple had chosen Funchal Cathedral in Madeira’s capital for their wedding ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, with the reception expected at the luxury Savoy Palace Hotel.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez have not publicly confirmed the reported wedding date, venue or arrangements.
The choice of Madeira holds deep personal meaning for Ronaldo, who was born in Funchal on February 5, 1985, and spent his early years on the island before leaving for Lisbon as a teenager to join Sporting CP’s academy. His rise from Madeira to becoming one of football’s greatest players remains a defining part of his legacy.
Ronaldo, 41, and Rodríguez, 32, began dating in 2016 after meeting in Madrid during his Real Madrid career. Their relationship later grew into a family partnership, with their daughter Alana Martina born in 2017.
