Nollywood actress, Temitope Osoba, has died at the age of 40, exactly one year after announcing her recovery from breast cancer and her return to acting.
Her death was announced on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, by fellow actor Alesh Sanni, who paid an emotional tribute to her on Instagram.
Sanni described Osoba as a dear sister and recalled the cherished moments they shared, saying he had been unable to sleep after receiving news of her passing.
“Couldn’t sleep since last night, it’s well. Rest in peace my dearest sister, Temitope Osoba. We had amazing time and good memories together, till we meet again. I really dunno what to say mehn, gosh,” he wrote.
The cause of Osoba’s death was not disclosed as of the time of filing this report.

Her passing came a year after she publicly revealed her recovery from breast cancer and announced her return to Nollywood following an absence of more than a year from the industry due to her health.
On August 4, 2025, the actress shared the update in a video posted on her verified Instagram account, expressing gratitude to God, her family, fans and supporters who stood by her throughout her health journey.
“Battling cancer wasn’t an easy thing for me but with your support, I pulled through,” she said.
Osoba described the experience as life-changing and expressed excitement about returning to the screen. The announcement attracted widespread support from colleagues and fans, who celebrated her resilience and welcomed her comeback.
Known for her performances in Yoruba-language Nollywood productions, Osoba was recognized for her talent and contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
