The police in Gombe State have arrested six suspects in connection with the alleged abduction of a six-year-old boy, Habibu Appolos, from Nyuwar Village in Balanga Local Government Area of the state.
First Daily correspondent gathered that the child was abducted by unknown persons in August 2025 and remained missing for several months.
According to an X post by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, on Saturday, the victim was reportedly found on January 22, 2026, in the custody of a 14-year-old girl, Zubaina Abubakar, from Kumuru via Nyuwar.
During interrogation, Zubaina allegedly confessed to her involvement in the case and implicated several other suspects.
She reportedly named Oborona Obidah, 28, who allegedly handed the child over to her grandparents, and Habiba Isa, 45, from Lafiya, Lamurde Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
According to investigators, Habiba Isa instructed Zubaina to take the child to Gidado Ibrahim, 30, of Sibo Village.

Preliminary police investigations suggest that the suspects conspired to abduct the child for ritual purposes.
Among those arrested is Yunusa Kura, 45, of Kumtur Village, who police identified as the alleged ritualist linked to the case.
The police confirmed that all six suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue.
Authorities said further details would be made public as the inquiry progresses.
