Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has suspended Dr. Larai Aliyu Tambuwal, the Executive Secretary of the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (SPHCDA).
The suspension was communicated through a letter dated Thursday, October 2, 2025.
In the same letter, Governor Aliyu appointed Dr. Muhammad Sani Kagara as Acting Executive Secretary of the agency.
Dr. Kagara will oversee the agency’s operations pending the outcome of an internal review.
The move comes as part of Governor Aliyu’s ongoing efforts to restructure the state civil service and address administrative challenges inherited from the previous administration.

Earlier in his tenure, the governor had revoked certain appointments and land allocations made by his predecessor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, citing the need for a thorough review in the public interest.
The specific reasons for Dr. Tambuwal’s suspension have not been publicly disclosed, and the Sokoto State Government has yet to provide further details.
Governor Aliyu’s administration continues to implement reforms aimed at improving governance and public service delivery across Sokoto State.
