Governor Chukwuma Soludo has opened the process for the appointment of new permanent secretaries in Anambra State, inviting suitably qualified civil servants to apply for the top administrative positions in the state’s bureaucracy.
The call, conveyed in an official notice released on Thursday, April 2, 2026, by the Office of the Head of Service, was originally dated Friday, March 27, 2026, and subsequently circulated across ministries, departments and agencies.
Under the guidelines, only officers within the directorate cadre ranging from Deputy Director to Director are eligible to apply.

Prospective candidates must also be confirmed civil servants with no fewer than two years remaining in service before retirement, a requirement aimed at ensuring continuity and stability in the system.
Applications are to be submitted to the Office of the Head of Service in Awka no later than Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
Government officials indicated that the selection process will be competitive, with only shortlisted candidates advancing to the next stage.
The recruitment exercise comes in the wake of the governor’s second-term inauguration on Monday, March 17, 2026, and forms part of a broader push to recalibrate the state’s civil service architecture, with emphasis on merit, institutional efficiency and improved service delivery.
