Human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has accused officials allegedly linked to the Ekiti State Government House and operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) of being behind an attack on his team in Ado-Ekiti.
Sowore made the allegation in a statement shared on social media following the incident, which reportedly occurred shortly after he concluded an interview at MIDAS FM 90.5 in Ado-Ekiti on Friday.
He alleged that the attackers were thugs who came from the Ekiti State Government House and received tracking and operational support from DSS operatives.
The activist further claimed that DSS operatives had been trailing and harassing members of his team since their arrival in the state a day earlier.
According to him, the operatives also threatened the manager of a facility where they had earlier eaten, warning him against allowing the group to use the premises again.
Sowore said the attack occurred shortly after his radio interview, alleging that the assailants descended on his team in a violent manner with the assistance of DSS operatives.
