The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, has urged President Bola Tinubu to take advantage of adult education programmes and return to school, criticising the educational information submitted by the President to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Sowore made the remarks on Monday after proceedings in his defamation case involving the President at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The former presidential candidate accused Tinubu of failing to provide details of his primary and secondary education in the personal particulars submitted to INEC ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
According to Sowore, the omission has continued to fuel questions surrounding the President’s academic background.
“President Tinubu didn’t go to primary and secondary school. He only presented a paper from Chicago State University, which was different from the paper he presented in 1999,” he said.
The activist added that the President should consider returning to school through adult education programmes.

“I’m advising him that it’s not too late to take advantage of adult education. Let him go back to primary school online,” Sowore stated.
The comments come against the backdrop of the long-running controversy surrounding Tinubu’s academic records, particularly documents linked to Chicago State University in the United States.
The issue has remained a subject of political debate since the 2023 general election, with critics questioning discrepancies in some of the documents submitted by the President, while supporters insist that the allegations have been repeatedly addressed.
Tinubu has consistently maintained that all the credentials he submitted to INEC were authentic.
Sowore’s latest remarks have already generated reactions on social media, with supporters and critics of the President offering differing views on the controversy.
