Human rights activist and political advocate Omoyele Sowore has sharply criticised President Bola Tinubu over the state of affairs in the country, alleging that the President is disconnected from the urgent challenges confronting Nigerians. Sowore made the remarks in a strongly worded post on his X handle on Wednesday, sparking intense reactions online.
In the post, the former presidential candidate accused the President of prioritising political interests over national welfare. He claimed Tinubu appeared more focused on “land to grab, loans to obtain and steal,” while using Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike to “cause confusion” ahead of what he described as a “failed and dead 2027 ambition.”
Sowore, known for his outspoken stance on governance and accountability, asserted that the administration had failed to address mounting insecurity, economic hardship and public distress. His message ended with the hashtag #TinubuMustGo, a call that has been gaining traction among sections of the online activist community.

The post has since generated intense debate across social media platforms, with supporters applauding Sowore’s boldness while critics described the comments as inflammatory. Still, the message reflects the heightened political tension and growing public frustration as many Nigerians grapple with rising costs, security concerns and diminishing confidence in leadership.
Sowore’s remarks add to a chorus of voices demanding stronger governance, clearer communication and urgent solutions to the country’s deepening challenges.
