A public affairs analyst, Sumner Sambo, has described the emerging Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) Movement as organic and a positive development ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sambo made the remarks on Thursday during an appearance on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television, following the launch of a joint support movement by backers of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.
“I’m very happy that these groups of supporters are coming together. This movement is indeed very organic and encouraging,” he said.
According to him, the initiative reflects a grassroots-driven effort, noting that the mobilisation is being carried out independently of the direct involvement of the potential candidates.
“It’s good these groups are coming together, not with the support of the potential candidates,” Sambo added.

He further disclosed that the movement has already established a structured framework, with coordinators appointed at state, zonal, and national levels.
Sambo, however, emphasised the need for transparency, particularly in the area of funding, as the movement continues to expand.
“We are canvassing for transparency in their actions, especially with financing,” he said.
The development comes amid increasing political alignments and grassroots mobilisation efforts as stakeholders begin positioning ahead of the next electoral cycle.
