Super Eagles Set for $50,000 Per Goal Against DR Congo

The Super Eagles will receive a major financial boost as they head into tonight’s decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff final against the Democratic Republic of Congo, with each goal now valued at $50,000.

This fresh incentive comes just days after Nigeria pocketed $120,000 for their 4–1 victory over Gabon in the semi-final on Thursday. In that match, Eric Chelle’s side earned $30,000 for every goal scored.

According to sources, the new reward package was put forward by the National Sports Commission (NSC) in collaboration with select corporate partners.

The initiative aims to lift the team’s morale as they push toward securing a spot at the 2026 World Cup.

Sunday night’s showdown against DRC is crucial, with the winner advancing to the Intercontinental playoffs scheduled for March 2025 in Mexico, the final gateway to the global tournament.

The Super Eagles will be hoping to make the most of both the stakes and the financial motivation as they take on the Leopards in a battle that could shape their World Cup destiny.
