‘They’re Sick’ – Aisha Yesufu Defends Pat Utomi, Rips Into DSS

Popular Nigerian activist Aisha Yesufu has fired back at the Department of State Services (DSS) over its decision to take Prof. Pat Utomi to court for his “shadow government” comment.

Yesufu called the secret police “sick,” questioning their actions.

The DSS dragged Utomi before the Federal High Court in Abuja, accusing him of plotting to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
They claim Utomi aimed to set up a shadow government in Nigeria.

On the 13th of May, 2025, through a suit filed by Akinlolu Kehinde, the DSS asked the court to declare Utomi’s statement an attack on the constitution.

The agency argued the comment was meant to destabilize Nigeria and create chaos.

DSS warned that if such a “shadow government” was allowed to stand, it could spark political unrest, fuel conflicts between groups, and encourage separatist or unlawful groups to form similar parallel structures.
They said this would threaten national security.

In response, Yesufu tweeted on X: “DSS is sick and doesn’t know who to tell it that it is sick.”
