President Bola Tinubu arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, in the early hours of Monday ahead of the two-day Africa-France Summit
The President’s aircraft, an Airbus A330-200, Nigeria Air Force 1, landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:15 a.m. local time.
The President was received on arrival by senior Nigerian government officials, including Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola; and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
The Nairobi stop is the second phase of Tinubu’s ongoing three-country tour and his second visit to Kenya since assuming office in July 2023.
His trip began in France, where he held talks with global investors and reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to fiscal discipline and ongoing economic reforms.
The two-day Africa-France Summit, co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, will run from May 11 to May 12.

Organisers say discussions will centre on the theme, “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” with key focus areas including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, reform of global financing systems, and climate action.
The Presidency said Tinubu’s presence at the summit highlights Nigeria’s push to strengthen partnerships with African countries and France, particularly in areas that drive investment and economic expansion.
During the event, the President is expected to outline his administration’s reform efforts aimed at positioning Nigeria as a competitive investment destination.
The President is also expected to hold bilateral engagements with global and African business leaders on the sidelines of the summit as part of efforts to attract investment into key sectors of the Nigerian economy.
After concluding engagements in Nairobi, Tinubu will proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to May 15.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria after the Rwanda leg of the trip, ahead of the All Progressives Congress presidential primary fixed for May 23.
