President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid tribute to fallen Nigerian soldiers killed in recent operations in Borno State, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to intensifying the fight against terrorism and insecurity across the country.
In a statement shared via his official X account on Friday, the President expressed deep condolences to the families of the slain troops, particularly those led by Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah, describing their sacrifice as a profound loss to the nation.
The President noted that ongoing land and air offensives by the Nigerian Armed Forces have recorded significant successes, including the neutralisation of several insurgent fighters and commanders.
He added that recent counterattacks by insurgents reflect growing desperation among terrorist groups.
“Our armed forces have been conducting sustained and intense operations against insurgents,” he stated, emphasising that the military’s efforts continue to weaken the capacity of terrorist elements.
Tinubu assured that the sacrifices of the fallen soldiers would not be forgotten, stressing that their bravery has strengthened the nation’s resolve to eliminate terrorism and restore peace.
“The government will never forget their sacrifices. Their sacrifices will not be in vain,” he said.

He also called on military personnel across various theatres of operation to remain steadfast, urging them not to lose morale despite the challenges on the battlefield.
The President further pledged continued support for the Armed Forces, including improved welfare and the provision of necessary equipment to enhance operational effectiveness.
In addition, Tinubu appealed to Nigerians and the media to support the military’s efforts and refrain from actions or narratives that could undermine the morale of troops.
“These soldiers are our heroes; unforgettable and irreplaceable,” he added.
The President extended his condolences to the government and people of Borno State, reiterating the Federal Government’s commitment to working closely with state authorities to achieve lasting peace and security.
The statement comes amid ongoing military operations in Nigeria’s North-East, where security forces continue to battle insurgent groups responsible for years of violence and displacement.
